Electronic Countermeasures was tapped to bring their unique creative perspective and process to build the spectacular show graphics for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The core onsite content team that created 85-90% of all show content consisted of 4 content creators from 3 companies, Bright (Finland), Electronic Countermeasures (USA), and Greenwall (Sweden). Electronic Countermeasures’ had to bring out the full arsenal of tricks including generative and procedural driven looks built in Processing and openFrameworks and their render resource management skills to fill the 72,000,002 pixels spread across the massive 900 square meters worth of LED that the Eurovision stage was built from along with the 12x HD feeds worth of aerial, hologauze, and rear projection surfaces and 90 pixel mapped Ayrton MagicDot-Rs. The build process was completed over the course of a 60 day tech and rehearsal period split between SVT and the Globen Arena. The resulting 2 semi-finals and finale were a stunning success and were broadcasted to a record breaking 204 million people worldwide.
